Super Bowl Toy Tournament

Entry fee will be $15 and a new unwrapped toy. 100% of the proceeds will go towards the prize fund. Toys collected will be given to the Christmas for Kids Toy Drive and will then be distributed throughout Massac County to those children in need this Holiday Season. 4 – 7:30 p.m. Massac Junior High School, 3028 Old Marion Rd, Metropolis 6th annual Scholarship Spaghetti Supper sponsored by the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of Metropolis. Spaghetti and sauce will be prepared by Mary Ann and Two Sisters Catering. Musical entertainment will be provided by WJLI. Annual Chili Supper Benefit

Lutheran Church of the Cross, 2601 North Ave., Metropolis Menu includes chili, chicken chili, hot dogs, drinks and deserts. Carry outs available. Free will donations. Proceeds will benefit Josh Stratemeyer and COPE food pantry. President’s Day Holiday Closings

February 19

City and county offices, banks, federal offices, and some retail businesses will be closed. The state’s driver service facilities that are normally closed on Monday will be closed on Saturday as well as Monday. Massac Unit One and Joppa-Maple Grove school districts will not be in session.  There will be no delay in trash service in Metropolis.
